Sheikhun’s Wedding

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Last Friday was Sheikhun’s (my foster bro’s sister…) akad nikah to Samir. Held at the mosque after Isya’ and then straight home for the kenduri. Un was in a pretty white kebaya outfit. I had to force Aiman to wear his baju melayu to the akad… he was insisting on wearing the almost gray black Bettle Car t-shirt.

By the time we reached home after the akad, it was 10.00pm. Inside the house was crowded for the exchange of hantaran, so we decided to eat first. Besides, I was almost dying of hunger :-) Arif was also in a white baju melayu and he was so in love with Aiman’s teddy bear button… made Aiman run round and round!!! Managed to grab some pics of them together… will post that up later.

Then Saturday was the reception at Shah Alam. Fara, my youngest sister was the MC together to Amyzaddin. Darn… the caterers didn’t provide any plain water and Aiman made me go round and round looking for water (he doesn’t drink syrup!). Finally we found a cafe (happened to be just next to the wedding lawn but we actually went the other way round!!!) and Aiman got coke instead. Aiman wore his Bangladeshi outfit while Arif was in tuxedo. And before the start Aiman was already chasing after the flower girls and the pretty young dancing girls!!!

O yes, the bride and groom were in purple… pelamin purple… bunga pahar purple… so it’s obvious that Aiman insisted he gets a bunga pahar too… !!

Beginning of 2nd Trimester

Had another check-up with my gynae, Dr. Idris last Saturday. I was half expecting no more scan… maybe just the doppler heartbeat monitor. But noooooo… Dr. Idris pulled the machine and there was Aiman… "TV gelapppp". Anyway, of course, I welcome the scan… more photo collection. The baby has grown… head size 4 days behind, which is normal.

Dr. mentioned I have low lying placenta… oh dear!!! I am not allowed to do any hard work (yippee!!!) or carry heavy stuffs… let’s see if Aiman understands the meaning of… "Sorry, Mummy cannot carry you anymore". Hopefully there won’t be any bleeding. Then again, low-lying placenta or not… it’s 99% confirmed I am having another c-section anyways. So, let’s just wait and see if the placenta goes up or not. Let’s just say it doesn’t… then I get to deliver much earlier… that’s a good thought… I can eat rendang and all those raya stuffs earlier than expected… (tough luck… no harm dreamin’ though!).

All I know is that I am definitely in good hands… I have so much trust in Dr. Idris that there’s always a feeling of relaxed when I meet him. He gives you confidence, very gentle and at the same time, ohhhh… so fatherly!!! Well, he is old enough to be my father… so it’s always a good feeling when he explains things nicely and not make you afraid :-)

That Good Ol’ Friend

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

Last nite I watched sumthin’ on TV which reminds me of a good friend during my teenage years particularly when I was like 18 – 22 years. This good friend was a source of encouragement even though he was miles and miles away. Even though there was ZERO romance relationship between us, we call each other from Malaysia – USA, Malaysia – Sabah (his parents was transferred there for a couple of years so he goes there during his summer breaks before coming back to KL) every once in a while. And each time he comes back to KL, we would meet. He was one of those guys who could actually write long letters… (okay… once every three months or so, haha!)… we would share our dreams together… sometimes making deals about applying for the same job and see who gets it (both didn’t get… haha again!!)… him trying to dig who I was dating… oh, the good ol’ days… Somehow, due to perhaps work constraint or relationships in the making, we were slowly separated although not in total. There was less calls… less emails… less everything. He’s still around… so close, yet so far… but we still appreciate each other… at least, that’s true for me.

Arif turns TWO!!!

Monday, March 12th, 2007

Aiman’s darling (foster) baby brother i.e. my (foster) son turned two yesterday. Syed Arif Isyraf’s parents had a small family party last Saturday at Arif’s maternal grandparents’ home. It was fun EXCEPT there was blackout throughout the party!!! It was hot and all, but did not stop Aiman from being the busy boy he is.

Arif has grown… probably heavier than his Abang Aiman. He can speak well too… better than Abang Aiman also. And at two, he knows how to blow his candle too!!! So, Aiman was a good big brother… he didn’t offer any HELP blowing. They had so much fun together… blowing those noisy party stuffs but Aiman just refused to take picture with Arif. Hopefully at the next big family event in two weeks time, we can get pictures of them together. I know Arif is always ready for the camera…

For the time being, Aiman will keep reminding me of the sort of cake he wants for his birthday… and that is like 4 months away!!!

It’s a … BOY!!!

Monday, March 5th, 2007

hahahahaha… I am talking about Aiman, not the fetus!!! Seriously… I am so hoping for a girl knowing I don’t have much chance of having MANY kids. Doctor has informed I should limit to two or three, maximum due to my condition of not being able to have normal delivery EVER. Anyways, yes… Aiman is a boy. He finally had a BOY haircut last Saturday. Before the trip to the UNISEX saloon… I told him, if he let the auntie cut his hair, I will get him a car set. So, he was all excited in the car and when we reached the shop… he was reluctant to go in. So I reminded… "CAR SET". He went in, but stayed at the door. So, I had my haircut first. Aiman became relaxed and made himself at home, i.e. played with the hairs on the floor… urgh!!! When it was his turn, he was still reluctant… then the hairdresser took out the tall bar stool and I just carried Aiman up. No tears… hurray (last year at the barber… me and his daddy had to held him tight and he was screaming his heads off!!!). He didn’t want the shaver so we left that out. At least he let the dear auntie cut his hair. He looks like a boy now… no pictures yet… soon. For now at least we know where he can have his hair cut. I don’t have to do it myself anymore… phewwww… and yes, he got his hotwheels car set from Isetan on Sunday. I made him choose the cheapest one… :-)
